Am Anfang ist es ein Alptraum welches Sakai Yuji, ein ganz normaler Schüler, aus dem Schlaf erweckt. Er ahnt nicht das es bald realität wird.
Als es soweit ist, steht die Zeit still. Er sieht Leute die in ihrem Inneren eine Flamme besitzen. Dann erscheinen Monster welches die Flammen aufrisst und die Leute sterben lässt. Als das Monster Sakai angreift, wird er von einen Mädchen mit Roten Haaren und Augen gerettet. Ihr Name: Flame Haze. Als das Monster besiegt ist, sagt sie ihm die Wahrheit: Er ist eigentlich tot!...
mit diesem einen Satz beginnt für Yuji ein anderes Leben, auch wenn er weiterhin als "Hülle" auf der Erde exitsieren darf. Er scheint ein besondere Art vom Flamme zu sein, den er regeneriert sich zu jedem 12. Glockenschlag. Zwischen der Flame Haze, die er kurze Zeit später dem Namen "Shana" gibt, entwickelt sich eine gute Freundschaft. Gemeinsam kämpfen sie gegen Monster und andere Schurken, die dem Flamen "Guzes" nix gutes wollen.

Ich glaube in Japan gibt es von dem manga bisher 5 Bände.
Es gibt aber auch noch eine Romanreihe:

Ein ziemlich guter Manga. Aber der Roman ist auch lesenswert.
